I love this clip. I remember your shows very well. Funny about James Brown. He hired us for a arena in Texas once. When we walked out to do a sound check, his mouth fell open, as he did not know that we are white. By the way, I think you look great. All the best to you always, Mary Weiss (The Shangri-Las)

Hey Uncle Lloyd! I hope you included the Shangri Las appearance on the DVD! I think people would LOVE to see them. And to Mary/bunkyjunior......HELLO and please post more!! Try and talk Lloyd into doing another reunion show, Mary, so he can have some of the original acts on once again....such as you, (the new) Dick & Dee Dee, maybe Johnny Rivers, Gary Lewis, etc. That would be COOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!! The winner of five Emmys and 15 Emmy nominations, Lloyd created The Lloyd Thaxton Show in the 60’s. It was the highest rated musical show in the country for eight years. His fans, now the baby boomers of the 2000’s, remember his clever way of making music visual while presenting the most famous rock stars of the era. Lloyd was one of the founders of Tiger Beat magazine.
Following The Lloyd Thaxton Show, he hosted numerous network game shows, an ABC radio talk show and the variety show Showcase ’68 on NBC-TV. For eighteen years he was writer, producer and director of the high-rated national infotainment TV show “Fight Back! With David Horowitz” and writer-producer-director of over 200 segments on NBC-TV’s “The Today Show.”
Lloyd wrote, produced and directed Mansion of Mystery, 131 tongue-in-cheek radio dramas for the Mobil Oil Company, wrote and produced the reality based Speak Up America for NBC-TV, directed America’s Funniest People on ABC-TV and created and produced the syndicated sports game show Pro-Fan.
Lloyd’s latest book (2003) is Stuff Happens (and then you fix it), coauthored with award winning motivational speaker John Alston.
